"Our Daily Bread" in French translates to "Le Pain Quotidien." The root words for this phrase come from the Latin "quotus"/" kwo" meaning "how many?" or "a portion,"; and "dyeu" or "day", also meaning "to shine."

What is your portion for the day? How much shine is there?

Welcome to this place of reflection on these questions and more!  The purpose of Le Pain Quotidien is to nurture and inform our patrons. Check here for stories, recipes, specials and a wide array of contributions from our larger boulangerie community.
