This position will report to the Bakery Manager/ Owners and support La Boulangerie Marguerite’s retail and wholesale sales by:

  • Overseeing our current retail store (front of the house) operations, customer service and wholesale delivery staff, with a focus on refining LBM’s sales systems, strategies and customer onboarding.

As a husband and wife owned bakery, with baking and financial oversight roles, LBM is seeking a dynamic salesperson with food industry experience to manage the retail storefront and wholesale sales customer experience while seeking to help develop a dynamic customer focused team for continued growth and future expansion. LBM has a robust wholesale business to grocery stores, coffeeshops and restaurants around the Twin Cities, in addition to its neighborhood retail location. Part of the excitement of this new position is helping plan and open a second retail location. This sales management position also includes taking on collaborative marketing efforts to develop sales and product sheets for continued growth of our wholesale revenues. This process will include taking new products into the marketplace that reflect our brand and values. Overall, the Bakery Sales Manager will present and sell products to customers, motivating new and current sales staff and helping execute a collaborative marketing strategy with owners, reaching targeted sales goals, among other key performance indicators.


  • Overall Bakery knowledge of products to match needs of customers
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Wholesale, Retail customers, Sales staff, and Production Team Leads.
  • Manage, develop, coach, and motivate store support personnel
  • Identifies and locate new opportunities for sales within our existing markets
  • Answers inquiries from customers concerning products and services
  • Provides information, quotes, credit terms, and other bid specifications to customers
  • Assists with prices, terms of sales, and/or service agreements
  • Collaborates to forecast customers’ orders
  • Ensure customer orders are shipped complete, on time and distributed properly
  • Prepares and reports results, status of accounts, and leads to owners
  • Work with team to perform other duties as assigned
  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales budget
  • Develop and implement new sales initiatives, strategies, and programs
  • Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and maintain a good relationship
  • Develop and implement an annual plan for prospecting and opening new accounts
  • Travel to meet with customers or manufactures will be required on occasion

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent sales skills
  • Sales experience and a record of success that includes not only increased sales but resolution of customer issues.
  • Organized with attention to detail and follow through; capacity to multi-task
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients
  • Retail Sales Experience along with Food Industry experience
  • Travel to meet with customers will be required on occasion

Education: High school (or higher)

Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years Sales experience required
