About Us

Since 1921, the building at the corner of Randolph and Syndicate in St. Paul has operated as a family-run, neighborhood bakery. Each generation of ownership has represented families dedicated to collaborating and bringing this community their best in bread and pastries.

In 2017, when West African born French pastry chef and owner François Kiemde purchased PJ Murphy’s Bakery, he understood the opportunity and responsibility to steward the legacy of this neighborhood establishment forward. Marking 100 years in operation, Francois answers the call bringing this bakery and its products into the next century and new iteration. 

Reflecting both the neighborhood roots and the global reach of a French artisan, Francois is evolving the bakery to authentically reflect who Marguerite's is, and the small businesses core values of Community, Curiosity, and Quality.
